Reading: A Bad Day

I had a bad day yesterday. I woke up late because my alarm didn't ring. I felt nervous because I had an important exam. I couldn't find my shoes. I was worried about being late. I ran to the bus stop, but the bus was already gone. I felt angry. I waited for the next bus. It was very crowded. I got to school late. The exam was already starting. I felt very upset. After the exam, I talked to my best friend. She listened to my problems. I felt better. I was grateful for her kindness. She helped me feel calm again.

In the afternoon things got worse. I was very hungry, because I didn't have breakfast. I opened my bag and my water bottle was open. My books were wet. I wanted to cry, but I didn't. I was embarrassed because everybody looked at me.

In the last lesson, the teacher asked me a question. I was nervous and my hands were shaking. I didn't know the answer. Some students laughed. I blushed and I felt very small.

After school, I walked home slowly. I was tired and I was in a bad mood. My mother saw my face and said, "What's the matter?" I told her everything.

She said, "Don't worry. Everybody has a bad day. Tomorrow will be better." She made me a hot drink. I calmed down and I smiled.

Today I feel much better. My exam result was good. I was surprised and very happy.
