Three levels, chosen by you
Foundation — 6 sessions that teach each task format at an accessible level.
Standard — 12 sessions per skill and 12 full-length practice tests: everyday and work topics at the level most candidates aim for.
Hard — another 12 sessions and 12 tests with academic topics, denser texts and more precise vocabulary.
Every full test is written as a test of its own: nothing in it is borrowed from a practice session, so a test score is a fresh measurement.
Common questions
What is the Duolingo English Test?
An English proficiency test taken online, on your own computer, in about an hour. It is adaptive — questions get harder or easier depending on how you answer — and the result is reported on a scale from 10 to 160. Many universities accept it alongside IELTS and TOEFL; always check the score your institution asks for.
What is free and what is Premium?
The diagnostic and the first practice session of each task are free, so you can try every task type before deciding. Premium unlocks the rest — 30 sessions and 24 full-length practice tests across Foundation, Standard and Hard — plus saved progress and feedback on your writing and speaking.
Are these real Duolingo questions?
No. Every item is written by our team to the task formats of the current test. We do not copy or reproduce questions from Duolingo.
Which level should I start with?
If you have never seen the test, start with Foundation to learn the formats. If the formats are familiar, Standard is the main course; move to Hard once Standard sessions feel comfortable within the time limits.
English All-in-One is an independent practice site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Duolingo, and every practice item here is written by our team.
