Band 6.0 model answer
228 wordsToday many people do not have one permanent job. Instead they work for two or three different companies, or they take short projects from different clients. In my opinion, this change is more negative than positive.
It is true that this way of working has some advantages. A person can choose his own working hours and work from home, which is very useful for parents with small children. He is also not dependent on one boss: if he loses one client, he still has money from the others, so in this way the risk is smaller.
However, there are more disadvantages. The income is not stable, so it is very difficult to plan the family budget or to take a loan from a bank for a flat. In addition, these workers usually do not receive holiday payment, sick payment or a pension, because the companies say they are not real employees. If such a person becomes ill for two months, he receives nothing.
Another problem is training. A permanent company teaches its workers new skills, but nobody wants to pay for the training of a temporary worker, so these people must pay themselves or stay with old skills.
In conclusion, although working for several employers gives more freedom, I believe it is a negative development because it removes the security and the benefits that a permanent job provides.
